The Knoxville Public Library will have an open house for new director Ashley Miller on Monday.
The event will be hosted by the library board of directors and friends of the library from 4:00-6:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served and it is an opportunity to meet the new director. Miller will take over for Roslin Thompson, who is retiring at the beginning of April after serving as the director for the past 15 years. Miller, who is originally from Monroe, is in the process of finishing up graduate school. Thompson says she is looking forward to the transition.
“My last day at the library is April 4th and Ashley will start on that Monday. It’s just been great being able to work with her. That transition should be a good one. She is really excited to be here. I’m excited for her to be here. I think it’s always good to have fresh eyes to look at things and she has a lot of different ideas about different programs and services we can offer to the community.”
