The spring sports season on Eagle Lane kicks off today, as the Pella Christian boys track and field team will send a contingent of runners to Ames for their first meet of the year.

The Eagle boys will have seven runners compete at the 2025 IATC Indoor Championships this evening, which will be held at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center at Iowa State University. The Pella Christian boys are coming off a 6th place finish at the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet at Roland-Story last spring, and had distance runner Sawyer Meinders and thrower Trevor Veenstra compete at the State Meet at Drake Stadium. The junior Meinders will return to the track in two events tonight, running in the individual 3200 meter race and joining Landon Nunnikhoven, Jude Lubbers, and Caleb Volk in the distance medley relay. In addition to the DMR, the Eagles will compete in two other relays, with Nunnikhoven, Lubbers, Cael Morgan, and Adam Kacmarynski running in the 4x100m and Brecken Ritzert, Morgan, Lubbers, and Volk taking part in the 4x400m.

The IATC Indoor Championships at Iowa State University is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm, and the distance medley relay team will be Pella Christian’s first event of the meet at approximately 4 pm.
