
The Pella Christian boys track and field team kicked off the spring sports season on Eagle Lane Thursday, with a contingent of runners competing at the 2025 IATC Indoor Championships in Ames.
Running in the Class 2A field at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center at Iowa State University, the Eagles had seven athletes compete in four events and took 31st place with three points.
Sawyer Meinders started off his junior season strong by posting the top finish for Pella Christian on the night, taking 6th place in the 3200m run with a time of 10:27.35. In the 4x100m relay, the Eagles quartet of Landon Nunnikhoven, Jude Lubbers, Cael Morgan, and Adam Kacmarynski brought home an 11th place finish (45.43), while the 4x400m relay squad of Brecken Ritzert, Morgan, Lubbers, and Caleb Volk took 15th place (3:44.70). Rounding out the Pella Christian boys performance at the meet was the distance medley relay team of Nunnikhoven, Lubbers, Volk, and Meinders, who finished in 20th (3:59.02).
