The Indianola Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, welcoming the new owners of Uncommon Grounds on the downtown Indianola square. Sisters Courtney Fitzlaff and Kendra Kyser worked at Uncommon Grounds in the past and have been interested in buying the business when it has been for sale over the last decade but it was never the right time. Fitzlaff tells KNIA News this time it was an opportunity they couldn’t pass up.

“It has been so exciting, a whirlwind of everything. Our family has helped us revamp the inside, Kendra and I both worked here in 2012 and learned all the coffee stuff then. So we are glad to bring it all full circle, bring it back to the square and see the regulars again.”
