The Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad is preparing for the upcoming season and Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports the Saints should be strong in the sprint races. Trista Hansaker is back for another season trying to build on her performances at the State Meet last year. During the season Hansaker broke a 50 year old school record in the 100, and then really showed her ability at the Blue Oval. In the 200 she placed 24th with a time of :27.52\ and in the 100 she placed 13th with a time of :13.10. Stuart tells KNIA Sports they are trying to balance being focused on goals and just enjoy the process.

Stuart: “Definitely we have Trista Hansaker back with her strengths with relays, and she’s a sprinter through and through, so we’re just going to help her as much as we can to achieve her goals and dreams.”

Stuart adds they will get as many relay races together as possible.
