A large number of athletes out for the sport has the Pella Christian girls track and field team excited about their potential finish this season.
Coming off a second place finish at the Class 2A State Track and Field meet last spring, the Eagles returned 17 of the 26 girls that were a part of last season’s squad, and have 28 girls out for the sport this year. Additionally, Pella Christian returns almost all of their athletes that competed at State in 2024, and also features a lot of youth with 19 underclassmen on the roster this spring. Hoping to build on the excitement of their runner-up finish a year ago, Eagles head coach Keith Anderson says they are looking to use the early portion of the season to find ways to help strengthen their pursuit of a State Title in May.
“We’ve already started thinking about how we can maximize each and every individual, and where we can maybe squeeze in a few more qualifications for the State Meet. We kind of know what we have with a majority of the upperclassmen, but we have a great group of freshmen that are out of about 10 or 11 girls. So, where can we maybe fit them in and find a place for them that we can maximize their abilities.”
The Pella Christian girls, who opened their season with a second place finish at the 2025 IATC Indoor Championships last week, will begin their outdoor season at Davis County on April 1st.
