With several days feeling more like May recently, several residents and visitors are gearing up for full tulip bloom in Pella. Parks Director Chandler Nunnikhoven has overseen the planting of over 100,000 tulip bulbs in partnership with Marci Woodhouse, city staff, and volunteers. Nunnikhoven says the colder February and snowpack has the timing looking good for full bloom from late-April to early-May. He says several warm or cold stretches could impact the timing, but the upcoming forecast is promising for multiple weeks of flowers showing at their best throughout the community.
