Mid distance races for the Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad will likely be at first, two names that have been with the program for the last few seasons. Hannah Dunkin, who is coming off a brilliant basketball career for the Panthers according to Coach Michael Splavec will run mostly 400s and a few 800s. Halle Baker will run mainly in the 200s. Baker just missed qualifying for the State Meet last year, and Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports those two will get the Panthers off to a good start.

Splavec: “Really excited what she can bring to our longer races and sprints like the 400. Halle Baker a really strong runner in the 200, and she was really hungry and upset at how things turned out for her. They’re really going to be the two that gets us started in those events.”

Splavec adds a few more girls could emerge as a season goes on. Knoxville will get its season started on March 25th at the Simpson College Invitational.
