Preparing for their fifth season since restarting the program, the seniors for the Pella Christian boys tennis team are helping the program continue to grow.

Eagles head coach Aaron Fitzgerald says that most of this year’s seniors have been a part of the program for all four years of their high school careers, and have been working hard to make sure every member of the team is at their best. Fitzgerald adds that the seniors’ influence within the program has been on display throughout the offseason and their early practices, which he believes will help them be successful this season.

“Our senior guys are really becoming the accountability for each other, and those are the guys that are getting after their teammates, getting in the weight room, getting fit before we start the year so that we can be as competitive as possible. And when you start to see that type of leadership in your players, they have something bigger than themselves to compete for, and I think that’s gonna bring what we’ve done the last few years to a whole new level.”

The Eagles open their season at Centerville with a 4:15 pm match on Monday, March 31st.
