Last week nearly all of the Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad was at practice. Many of the runners and throwers were a part of the boys basketball squad that, one day previous, had just concluded its season at the class 3A State Tournament. Coach Eric Kellar told them they could take a few days off to recharge the batteries, but many of those same athletes were at practice and a full go. Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that is what makes the job fun, knowing the commitment to the next sport.

Kellar: “It’s awesome to be a coach and the strength coach. I told them to take the day off so that they didn’t have to show up until Tuesday, but they said ‘we’re fine we’ll be here.” Just about everyone was here too.”

Kellar is excited for the season as he tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team can compete for a third South Central Conference title in four years. The Panthers are set to get the season underway on April 1st at the Pella Christian Invitational.
