A Knoxville man has been arrested for felony attempted burglary.
According to court records, on March 17th at approximately 1:20am, Knoxville Police Officers were dispatched to a man outside of a home on Desmont Dr. allegedly peeking through the window and trying to open the back door of the residence while a resident was inside of the home. When officers talked with the resident, she said she came out of the shower with only a towel covering her and she saw a man through the window staring at her, in which she then ran to the other bedroom and locked the door. The resident said she could hear someone slamming into the back door attempting to enter the residence and she could hear the door handle being aggressively jiggled from across the house in the bedroom that she was locked in. The female described a man wearing a black coat, blue jeans, and a hat with a sack over his shoulder. The man was seen running west on Pleasant St.
Chadly Geery was found walking on Mckimber St. and matching the description given to officers by the victim. The victim identified Geery as the man standing out of her window. Geery admitted to being in the area of the residence and he was then arrested. While searching Geery, officers found a device that appeared to contain marijuana wax. The device field tested positive for marijuana. Geery has two prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance.
Geery is charged with Second Degree Attempted Burglary, a Class D Felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor.
