An Engineering Services agreement has been approved by the Newton City Council, for the design of sidewalks along Iowa Speedway Drive. Newton City Administrator Matt Muckler says the city has received many complaints regarding the safety of pedestrians walking along the street, and the city council identified the installation of sidewalks as a top priority project for this year. 

The $27,600 Engineering Services agreement is with Bolton/Menk Engineering in Ames. The final design they draft for this project will be completed and placed out to bid for this construction season.
