After a 4th place finish last season at the South Central Conference meet, the Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad is looking at a top three finish. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the competition is good in the SCC and he knows two-to-three teams will be in the thick of the top three.
Splavec: “We finished 4th, and we have a good shot to finish in the top 3. Eddyville is going to be strong with the Shafer Sisters, you can really build a great team around them, Davis County is another one we look at with their numbers, and Albia is also a team we look at to see how we stack up.”
Splavec adds Albia is another program that will be in the fight for a top three finish. Knoxville hits the track for the season opener on Tuesday at the Simpson College Invitational.
