
The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad made its season outdoor debut at the Simpson College Invitational on Tuesday and came away with some positive results. The Panthers finished 9th as a team against several larger schools with 19 total points. The Panthers were led by Naomi Bacon with a 5th place finish in the 800 with Riley Davis in 7th in the same event. Nicole Schultz was 7th in the 3000, Halle Baker took 7th in the 100 and the distance medley team of Cally Landis, Payton Kearney, Serenity Turner, and Abi Vanderlinden placed 7th. Coach Michael Splavec told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was encouraged with the performances and looks forward to the next meet which is next Thursday at Clarke.
