U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks honored the life of former Marion County Veterans Affairs Commissioner Alvin Van Zee earlier this week. Miller-Meeks spoke about Al’s impact on local veterans following his service in the U.S. Army, as he served as a commander of the Van Veen – Van Hemert American Legion Post in Pella and a member of VFW Post 5242. Funeral services were held earlier this week for the 75-year-old.
