Jasper County’s Secondary Roads Department has just started tearing out a bridge in the northwest corner of the county. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch says replacement of the bridge carrying North 107th Avenue West over Clear Creek, between West 86th and 92nd Streets North, should take two to three months to complete depending on the weather. The county purchased the steel superstructure for the 120’ x 24’ steel girder bridge back in August from Oden Enterprises in Wahoo, Nebraska. The cost was $377,388. The Jasper County Secondary Roads Department also says demolition of the County Highway F-62 bridge over the North Skunk River just east of Lynnville is well underway. That bridge replacement project began last week, and is expected to be completed around the end of November.
