Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville has received a grant from the Marion County United Way. The pantry will use the support for their transition to a client-choice food distribution model, which allows neighbors to choose food they’ll use. This provides better nutrition, a stronger sense of dignity and better stewardship on their part of your food donations and financial support. The old model of food distribution was clients just receiving a bag of food without having a choice on what they wanted, but the client-choice model will now allow those who receive donations to pick what they want.
