The Simpson College baseball team exploded for runs in extra innings Friday night in the series opener on the road against American Rivers Conference foe Loras College. 

The Storm found themselves trailing 5-3 heading into the ninth inning but were able to put up two runs in that frame to tie the game and force extras. In the 10th, Simpson put up nine runs off of nine hits capped off by a grand slam from sophomore Trenton Kingery to put the game out of reach for a lopsided 14-7 win after the Duhawks got back two more runs in the bottom of the 10th.. Kingery along with Kasey Carter and Ian Baldwin all had two hits in the contest. 

Simpson starting pitcher Trey Castile went six full innings in the game giving up four hits and two earned runs. The Storm Baseball Team improves to 10-14 on the season and will take on Loras in a doubleheader today starting at Noon which can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
