The Pella School Board will consider a ten-year 28E agreement to support the proposed City of Pella indoor recreation center at their meeting Monday.

The proposal would have the Pella Community School District pay $1 million over five years from FY2028 to FY2032 to support operation expenses for the facility, which would pay for ten years of access. The district intends to create varsity and JV swim teams to correspond with construction of the rec center, if it’s approved by the Pella City Council on Tuesday.

Also on the agenda for the Pella School Board is approval of the FY26 certified budget, a proposal for an orchestra field trip, summer projects from Physical Plant and Equipment Levy and SAVE sales tax revenue, a furniture purchase for Jefferson Intermediate, and a resolution to create an endowed fund with the Pella Community Foundation.

Now that the projects from the 2021 bond issue are complete, the board will also review the 2018 facility plan for the district and discuss future priorities.

A closed session is scheduled to evaluate the professional competency of an employee.

The Pella School Board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Pella High School Library.
