
Every Indianola spring sports team was in action Tuesday, with both tennis teams, both track squads, both soccer squads, and the girls golf team all competing.
The Indianola girls golf team placed third at the first of three Little Hawkeye Conference meets, scoring a team score of 385. Amelia Moorlach was 6th with a 92, Camryn Overton was 8th with a 93, and Alexa Inman and Reese Lucas both shot 100 to finish in 16th and 17th respectively. The Indians next hit the links tomorrow at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
The Indianola boys tennis team fell to Pella 9-2. Bryson Rehmeier picked up a win in singles, while the doubles team of Andrew Little/Owen Nelson earned a third set victory., Indianola is now 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference, and will next compete Friday hosting North Polk.
The Indianola girls narrowly lost to Pella 7-4. Lauren Danielson won a marathon match in singles, while the doubles teams of Maci Lerseth/Danielson, Ryen Blosser/Mackenzie Sloan, and Ashley Schultz/Peyton Rinard all won. Indianola is now 3-2 and 2-1, and will travel to Johnston on Friday.
The Indianola boys track and field team placed 3rd at Ankeny scoring 96 team points. Top finishers included a 1st place finish from Jake Robidoux in the 3200m, the 4x200m Relay placing 1st, Aiden Curtis was 2nd in the Discus, Reed Robbins 2nd in the 800m, and Isaac Johnson 2nd in the 400m. The squad is back in action tomorrow at Waukee.
The Indianola girls track and field team competed at Dallas Center-Grimes. Results will be updated as they become available. The Indians will host the annual Ron Werling Relays tomorrow at the Indianola Stadium.
The Indianola girls soccer team picked up their first Little Hawkeye Conference win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Newton on the road. The Indians defense clamped down, and Lauren Burk was able to find the back of the net for the victory. Indianola is now 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference, and will play at Des Moines East tomorrow.
The Indianola boys soccer team dominated Newton with a 7-0 victory, with seven different athletes all finding the back of the net. The Indians got ahead 3-0 at the half, then continued to pour it on throughout the second half with four more goals and putting constant pressure on the Cardinals. Earning goals included Aiden Keller, Jacob Chickering, and Van Kauffman in the first half, with Max Martinez, Aiden Stafford, Damien Moyo, and Hunter Chittenden in the second. Indianola improves to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference play, and will match up with Carlisle tomorrow on the road.
