Knoxville Boys Track and Field Participates At Chariton

The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad went to the Chariton Invitational on came back with good results. Coach Eric Kellar took about half of the team to Reynolds Field and Koby Higginbotham and Kaiden Smith went one/two in the high jump and 110 high hurdles. Yusef Gulley won the long jump, Karsen Caster got second in the 400 hurdles and Higginbotham won the 200. Official team scores were unavailable due to a timing error during the meet.

Smith Runner-Up At Centerville Invitational

The Knoxville Girls Golf Squad took a partial team to the Centerville Invitational on Tuesday in the first 18 hole event of the season. The Panthers did not have enough to record a team score but Caelie Smith shot an 86 which was overall runner up. The 86 tied for 1st place but Smith was officially 2nd after one hole playoff. Brilynn McMillen carded a 120 and Abbie Keitges came in with a 126. Knoxville heads to Moravia on Thursday.

Knoxville Girls Tennis Stays Perfect With Win Over Grinnell

The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad stayed unbeaten on the season with its second straight 8-1 victory over an opponent, Tuesday’s victim was Grinnell. The Panthers won five of six singles matches with Janie Maasdam, Iselynn Prevo, Marlea Cox, Bridgette Liston and Addy Dunkin winning in singles with no player dropping a set. Knoxville completed the match by sweeping the doubles matches. The Panthers continue their busy week with a road trip to Clarke on Thursday.

Boys Soccer Outlasts Des Moines Christian

The Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad won a hard fought match over Des Moines Christian 2-1 on Tuesday night. The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead with Max Magana nailing another free kick from around 45 yards out, and Rylan Robinson scored off of an assist from Ezra Schmidt. The Panthers then gave up a goal to the Lions just :50 into the 2nd half and had to hold on for the remainder of the match to preserve the victory. Carson Cecil had nine saves on ten shots, and Coach Dylan Mick told KNIA/KRLS Sports his back line was tested all night and stood up especially in the 2nd half. Knoxville is now 3-1-2 and will head to P-C-M on Monday.
