A 21-year-old Newton man, who allegedly confessed to having sex with a teenage minor after offering to sell the minor marijuana, has been given consecutive five and ten year prison terms. According to Newton Police, Jaden Joel Adams admitted to having sex with the minor in his truck on March 28th of last year, when the victim met with him to buy marijuana. Court documents say the victim had messages on her phone from Adams offering to sell her marijuana, and then apologizing for the sexual encounter in his truck. Police also said a search warrant turned up explicit photos of a minor on Adams’ phone, along with messages offering to sell the victim and others marijuana.

Adams pleaded guilty to 3rd degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, and manufacturing, delivering, or possessing marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony. District Court Judge David Faith imposed consecutive ten and five year prison terms, along with fines totaling just under $2,400.
