Iowa’s spring turkey hunting season is here, split into four seasons for adult hunting in permitted areas across the state.

Season one runs through tomorrow, season two is April 18th-22nd, season three will be April 23rd-29th, and the final season will be April 30th-May 18th. Shooting hours for all seasons are a half-hour before sunrise to sunset. Warren County Conservation Environmental Education Coordinator Kelsey Longnecker tells KNIA News Warren County Parks that allow hunting will have a QR code to scan at the informational board near the parking lot.

Safety tips include letting family members or friends know the location you intend to hunt, and wear bright colors when hunting and stay away from wearing white, blue or red so not to be confused with being a male turkey. Find more information below.
