Knoxville Boys Track and Field senior Koby Higginbotham is headed to the Drake Relays next week. Higginbotham set a Blue Standard at a meet in Oskaloosa on April tenth. Higginbotham went :13.97 in the 110 high hurdles and his Coach Eric Kellar was blown away at the time. Higginbotham not only qualified for the Drake Relays, but also set a new Knoxville school record in that event. Higginbotham tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he expects a very competitive field at the Drake Relays in his event.
Higginbotham: “There are some good hurdles especially one from Prairie who went 13.64, which I heard he had a huge tail wind, but 13-64 is 13-64, and there’s a kids from Treynor and another kid from Ankeny that’s just behind me so it’ll be a great race.”
The top 32 qualify for the Drake Relays in the high school 110 high hurdles. The high school boys preliminaries are scheduled to be next Friday morning at 8:49.
