The Indianola City Council will hold the public hearing on the FY2026 budget at their meeting this evening, after months of discussion and work with city departments to make up for a $1.8 million budget shortfall. The proposed property tax levy rate is 13.43694 per $1,000 of valuation for regular properties within the city, and the council will consider an amendment to city code that would waive any wage increase given towards Indianola City Council members, the Indianola Mayor, and the IMU Board of Trustees.
