It was another busy night of sports for Knoxville on Tuesday.

Knoxville Boys and Girls Golf Split With Van Meter In Duals

Both golf squads hosted Van Meter for duals at Pine Knolls Country Club. The boys won 154-175. Brady Roozeboom and Urban Ziller tied for medalist with Roozeboom winning on a card off. Mikey DeVos shot a 40 while Grant Gerdes also carded a 40 and Luke Roozeboom made it five Panthers in the top ten with a 41 while Hayden Keefer came in 11th with a 51. The girls lost their dual 202-258 to the Bulldogs. Caelie Smith was runner-up with a 45. Smith told KNIA/KRLS sports after shooting well the day before at Pine Knolls, she was not completely satisfied with her round.

Smith: “Coming into today after shooting a 44 it started poorly and didn’t get any better, but with everything that went on I’m happy with a 45.”

Brilynn McMillen was 8th overall with a 65 Abbie Keitges shot a 68 for 9th and Kharma Keenan carded an 80 for 10th place. Knoxville Tennis Squads Take On Chariton

The Knoxville Tennis Squads took on Chariton on Tuesday. The girls rolled over the Chargers 9-0 as the Panthers swept the singles matches with no player dropping more than two games in any set. Janie Maasdam, Iselynn Prevo, Marlea Cox, Bridgette Liston, Addy Dunkin and Jordyn Counts all won in singles. The boys fell to Chariton 7-2. Ezra Schmidt won in singles and the Schmidt Brothers took a doubles match. Both Knoxville Squads will be in action at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts on Thursday against Davis County.

Girls Track And Field 6th At EBF

The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad placed 6th at the EBF Invitational on Tuesday. The Panthers have three top three finishes including Tali Smith in the long jump with a distance of 13 feet one inch, and Avery Pelong getting 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 31 feet 5.5 inches. The distance medley team of Smith, Laila Pedicini, Naomi Bacon and Hannah Dunkin took second in a time of 4:50.79. The Panthers are off until next Tuesday when they head to Chariton.

Knoxville Girls Soccer Falls To Fairfield

The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad fell to Fairfield on Tuesday night 3-0. Addi Williams had 15 saves. Knoxville is now 0-7 on the season and will travel to Albia on Friday.
