The Simpson softball team has taken over first place in the American Rivers Conference standings after they swept Luther on the road Tuesday, winning 2-0 and 9-3. Emma Lafave pitched a complete game shutout as the Storm scored on an RBI triple by Caelynn Obleton in the 7th inning where she eventually scored on an error. Game two was much different, as Simpson scored 9 of the first 10 runs on a two-run Megan Heidelbauer homerun, a Brielyn Ginnaty homer, a Lexi Ehlers homer, and Heidelbauer, Ehlers, and Ashlyn Steen each driving in more runs. Kylee Tucker got the win in the circle. Simpson is now 30-4 on the season and 11-3 in conference.

The Storm baseball squad earned a crucial win in game one against the Prairie Wolves 5-1. Eli Feekin pitched six innings to get the win, while Nate Cagley, Kasey Carter, and Drew Carlson all drove in runs. Game two saw the Prairie Wolves earn a 5-0 lead before the Storm could score. Carter and Dalton Ferrin drove in runs for Simpson. The Storm are now 13-19 overall and 7-11 in conference play, and have a crucial conference series beginning Friday at Central.
