After getting Wednesday to rest up, the Pella Christian girls tennis, track and field, and soccer teams return to action tonight.
The Eagles girls tennis team will kick off this evening’s action, traveling to Oskaloosa for their third match this week. Pella Christian enters the match looking to maintain their perfect record on the season, after improving to 7-0 overall with wins over Knoxville and Indianola earlier this week. The Indians come into today’s contest with a 2-3 overall record, defeating Clarke and South Tama in non-conference play, while falling to Indianola, Newton, and Pella in conference action.
The Eagles track and field teams kick off a busy end to their week tonight, traveling to Newton for the Cardinal Invitational. Both Pella Christian track and field teams are coming off fourth place finishes on Tuesday, with the girls scoring 99 points at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and the boys scoring 92 points at BGM.
The Eagles soccer squads will be the final teams to get their action underway tonight, with the boys hosting Sigourney Keota and the girls traveling to Chariton. The Pella Christian boys are looking to finish off a busy stretch in their season by extending their recent three-game winning streak. Tonight’s match will be the eighth in 11 days for the Eagle boys, before they will get a four-day break ahead of their next contest. In Chariton, the Pella Christian girls are looking to build on the momentum of their 2-1 win over Oskaloosa on Tuesday, which got them back in the win column after a pair of losses last week. The Chargers come into the game with a 2-5-2 record, and have gone 1-3-1 in their last five matches.
The Eagles girls tennis match at Oskaloosa starts today’s action at 4:15 pm, followed by the track and field teams at Newton’s Cardinal Invitational at 4:30 pm, and the boys and girls soccer games at 5:30 pm.
