 The Newton boys golf team competed for the second time in as many days Wednesday at the Tater Tough Invitational in Williamsburg. The team shot a 346 and finished sixth in the ten-team field. 

Jackson Price had the Cardinals best score for the third straight meet, placing third with a 79. The next best round for Newton was an 87 turned in by Carter Forst, who placed 29th. Ethan Pageler shot an 89 and finished 36th, while Mason Smith was two strokes behind with a 91 in 38th. Rounding out the Cardinals varsity roster for the day were Lane Rozendaal in 49th with a 99, and Grant Osby in 54th with a 102. 

The Newton boys golf team is back in action today, participating in the Grinnell Invitational at 1 p.m. at the Grinnell College Golf Course.
