The City of Knoxville has set a public hearing for a sale of ten lots in the Veterans District.
The City has received an offer from Origin Homes for these ten lots which if accepted would mean that 30 of the 34 lots have been sold in phase one of the Veterans Park project. Origin has five homes completed in the Veterans District and five homes that they are currently constructing as the West Des Moines based company has received federal housing tax credits to build in Knoxville. City Manager Heather Ussery is happy with the process of bringing homes to the old VA campus.
“We received an offer for 10 of the 14 lots that remain in phase one of the Veterans District. That would mean that just in a short time it is almost sold old. We knew that there was a pent up demand and we were hopeful that we would see this progress, but it is still surprising how quickly it is being sold so we’re very thankful for that and we’ll continue to look at what phase two will mean for the Veterans District.”
The public hearing will be held on May 5th at 6:15 pm.
