
The Simpson College baseball team exploded offensively in a lopsided game one American Rivers Conference series win over Central College Friday afternoon heard live on the KRLS3 stream.
The Storm recorded 17 hits and scored in every inning but one to earn the 15-2 win over the Dutch. Jacob Roberts, Drew Carlson, and Trenton Kingery all had 3 RBI a piece in the contest while Nate Cagley recorded four hits. Simpson starting pitcher Easton Dunwoody pitched all seven innings just giving up four hits and two earned runs. Eight of the nine players in Simpson’s lineup recorded a hit in the contest.
The Dutch had one extra base hit in the contest which came from Brayden Sawyer who also picked up an RBI. Garrett Guenther, Chase Dreyer, and Brock Luna also had hits for the Dutch. Central used three different pitchers in the loss with Bryer Wiley getting the most work by throwing four innings of relief.
Simpson improves to 14-19 on the season while the Dutch fall to 15-18. Game two and three of the series will be played today in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 pm which can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
