Knoxville has hired a new girls basketball coach, and it is a familiar name to the school district. Tracy Wilkins, who has served as high school principal and will take over the reins after serving as volunteer coach for the past several seasons, was approved at the Knoxville School Board meeting on Monday. Before coming to Knoxville ,Wilkins served as head girls coach at North Mahaska from 1997-2002 and at Maquoketa from 2002-2008 with a combined record of 105-127. Wilkins replaces Matt Ritchhart, who resigned following this past season. Wilkins will also stay on as principal of Knoxville High School.
