
A residential Knoxville house fire that occurred Friday morning is under investigation and the Knoxville Fire Department is asking for help from the public.
On Friday at 8:58 am, the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 713 W Main St. While enroute, dispatch advised that police officers on scene advised fire was coming from the main floor window on the west side, and a working fire assignment was requested. Knoxville City Fire Department responded with one squad company, one ladder company, two EMS companies, and a command officer. When crews arrived, they found a vacant house with flames coming from the first-floor windows. A crew forced entry through the door and made it into the residence, where they encountered heavy smoke and high heat. Crews made their way to the kitchen where the fire was located and started to extinguish the flames. The ladder crew started to search the residence for any victims that may have been inside , finding none.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The fire is currently under investigation by the Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Marion County Sheriffs Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire department asks that if anyone in the area may have a doorbell camera or other types of video recorders, or any information about this fire, to contact the Knoxville Police Department at 641-828-2220 and ask to speak with one of the Knoxville Police Officers on duty.
The house suffered smoke and fire damage, estimated at $35,000. The Knoxville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Township Fire Department, Marion County Dispatch, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the State Fire Marshall Office, and Mid-American Energy.
