The season opener is still two weeks away for the Pella High girls tennis team, and that’s just fine with new head coach Tiffany Rohe. Rohe says the time in practice is currently being spent on some of the basics.
“We’ve been doing a lot of conditioning. Just running, ab work and footwork – just starting with the basics. We’ve just really been focusing on getting our groove,” said Rohe. “A lot of these girls haven’t hit since last year, and some are new, so we’re just working on getting in a groove and making sure we’re feeling it.”
The Lady Dutch have a fairly balanced mix of experienced and new athletes out for tennis this season, and will see their first competition on April 9th, when they host Boone.
