Pleasantville welcomes Wayne into town tonight as each team will begin their Pride of Iowa Conference play in a girls/boys doubleheader. The Pleasantville boys have looked spectacular so far, starting right where they left off last season, with a 2 – 0 record and no signs of slowing down. Head coach, Tom Wilkins, told KNIA/KRLS Sports, that Wayne features a lot of unknowns heading into tonight’s game, as the Falcons have a new head coach and lost some of their top guys from last season. Wilkins also said that he’s always been more focused on getting his team ready than what the other team has to offer. For the Trojans’ girls, they are still searching for win number one under new head coach Aaron Fichter. They are 0 – 4 on the year, and tonight will be facing an inconsistent Wayne team that trounced Melcher-Dallas to start the season, but have lost contests to Twin Cedars and Martensdale-St. Mary’s. Tonight’s conference opener starts with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:15 p.m.
