The Knoxville City Council held off on deciding a location for a potential dog park during yesterday’s meeting. Park officials will get thoughts from the Humane Society, which is located near both potential locations on the issue. The Council also approved the Rec Center’s plans to continue with their future needs assessment. The Rec Center has chosen SVPA as the firm they will likely work with on that three-month project.
The City also received a clean audit report, and the Council voted to increase City Manager Harold Stewart’s salary from $90,000 to $95,000. Stewart had a clause in his contract in which his salary would be set to increase once he was no longer in need of rent assistance from the City. His family was able to sell their home in Nebraska a couple months ago, and the Council executed that clause in his contract last night.
