The Class 4A regional semifinal game between Pella and Winterset quickly turned into the Karly Olson show. The senior Husky threw a one-hit shutout, cranked out three home runs of her own and drove in seven runs in a 7 – 0 win over the Lady Dutch on Saturday. Olson started with a sac fly in the first, hit a three-run jack in the third, a two-run shot in the fifth, and finished things off with a solo homer in the seventh. Olson struck out 12 en route to the win, and Pella was unable to get a ball out of the infield the entire game. The only base hit was an infield single to shortstop by Sara Tallman. Fairfield beat Oskaloosa on Saturday as well, and Winterset will host them in the regional finals on Tuesday. Pella ends their year with a record of 15 – 20, and will lose five seniors off their squad: Allie DeMeulenaere, Morgan Bigbee, Morgan Ernst, Molly Lanke and Diana Zabradova.
