Wendy Robinson, a representative from the local Area Education Agency, is bringing her knowledge in reading, and reading intervention to the Pella Community School District on September 20th. Lowell Ernst, Director of Instruction for Pella schools, says that Robinson will use her expertise to show teachers different ways to intervene with struggling readers to give them the best chance of becoming proficient. Ernst adds that once children fall two grades behind, they have just a ten percent chance of ever becoming proficient.
