Members of a volunteer ministries group and a Knoxville ad-hoc planning committee set September 26th as a date for a fall “service surge” of volunteers helping with projects across the city. Mayor Harv Sprafka says the committee met again with “A Call To Serve” or ACTS ministries of Iowa, discussing the September 26th service surge”, where a large number of volunteers will move into Knoxville and help with numerous projects. Joel Bennett, co-founder and executive director of ACTS, says area residents wanting to get involved in volunteering can visit www.actsofiowa.org.
