State Senator Ken Roozenboom spoke to KNIA/KRLS News live from the Senate floor in Des Moines on Thursday where many proposed bills were getting one final chance to make it through the second filter before deadline. Roozenboom says that approximately 500 bills were proposed in the House and Senate combined, with about 50% of them making it through the first filter last month. Roozenboom says that there’s no way to know how many will continue on past this weekends deadline, but every piece of legislation that’s voted on for passage as a law, must first gain approval by the each of the states two houses.
