Day two of the 2014 State Track and Field meet at Drake Stadium was just as exciting as day one. Starting in Class 1A, Pleasantville finished eighth overall in the 4 x 200 meter relay, and Brittney Roby came very close to qualifying her discus throw for finals. In 2A, the Pella Christian girls’ 4 x 200 meter relay squad finished first in their heat and 11th overall. The Mustangs’ girls were second overall in the 4 x 200, and freshman Jayci Vos was fourth overall in the 400 meter hurdles. In Class 3A, Nathan Winters placed fourth in the shot put for Knoxville, Jessica Holterhaus was third in the state in the long jump, and Lydia VanEe was fifth overall in the 400 meter hurdles. Pella’s girls also qualified their 4 x 400 meter relay for the finals. Finally, Pella High’s boys were fifth in the distance medley relay, and Jordon Pingel was third overall in the 400 meter hurdles. All of the finals happen today on the final day of the 2014 State Track and Field Meet.
