The Knoxville girls proved to Albia that the first meeting between the two schools was not the normal Knoxville team. In that game the Panthers shot poorly and escaped with a 37-33 win. Last night…the Panthers never let the Lady Dees into the game with a 55-32 win. Sam Abens had a season high 27 points and continued her blistering pace from the three point line going 6/9 from long range. Alex Abens contributed 14 points as the Panthers improved to 16-0 on the season and will travel to Sigourney tomorrow night.
The Knoxville boys for the second straight night played without their top two scorers and gave Albia all they wanted before falling 54-to-42 last night. Albia seemed to have an answer to whenever Knoxville made a run to either get to within one or two points. Jamie VanderVeer had 12 points to lead Knoxville and Lance Daugherty chipped in ten. Knoxville will travel to number one ranked Norwalk Tuesday night as part of a varsity double header.
