Marion County’s unemployment percentage rose slightly in the month of May, but so did the number of residents with jobs. The latest numbers from Iowa Workforce Development have Marion County at a 3.7 percent unemployment rate, up a tenth of a percentage point from April. 110 residents found work. Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent in May from an April rate of 4.3 percent. The state’s jobless rate stood at 4.8 percent one year ago.
