The Pella Police Department reports that on 07/28/14 the Pella Police Department fielded a complaint about possible fraudulent sales tactics in the Pella area.

The complaint revolves around sales of a “promotional advertisement” for the Pella School District. The company is selling advertisement space on promotional items for a price.

After investigation and communication with the school, the Pella Police Department does not believe there is a criminal nexus or illegal activity with this current promotion. However, the Pella School District does not partner or affiliate with companies in this manner. The schools rarely sponsor or receive proceeds from this type of solicitation.
