After fending off several worthy opponents, the Central College men’s basketball team now holds a three-game lead in the Iowa Conference race, but the Dutch can’t let up just yet. Central hosts Loras tonight and will look to even the score against one of just two conference opponents who have beaten the Dutch this season. Central Head Coach Mike Boschee says his team has continued to stay hungry down the stretch, and he expects the guys to be ready again tonight.
“Usually at this time of the year, I think teams and coaches struggle just to keep their focus and keep their energy levels high, but I feel like this team has been able to do that,” said Boschee. “We’ve had good leadership throughout the whole year, and I suspect that our guys will be ready tonight again, just like they’ve been ready every night this year.”
The Duhawks were an 86-77 winner on their home floor in Dubuque on January 20th. The Central men have won five straight since that loss, and have not been beaten in Pella this season. The Central College men’s game will follow the women’s contest with Loras, at 8:00 p.m. tonight in Pella.
