The organizers of a food packaging event to benefit Haiti are continuing to make progress on an event that will be coming to Pella this spring.

Pella Meals from the Heartland will be a community-wide volunteer effort to help pack approximately 600,000 meals for people in need in Haiti in the wake of January’s earthquakes. Volunteers would work in teams of 10-12 people for approximately two hours per team to pack the meals.

Volunteers and donors are currently being sought for the event, which will take place on April 17th at the Vermeer Global Pavillion in Pella.
