Work is now underway along Main Street in Knoxville as the Downtown Streetscape project resumes.

Crews blocked off the section of Main Street starting at Second Street and stopping at Third Street. The intersection of Second and Main will be closed for the duration. Signs show a detour route around the project along Marion Street running from First Street east to Fourth Street.
Biweekly updates on the project will take place starting March 17th, according to Knoxville Assistant City Manager Aaron Adams. He says they’re good opportunities to get both the contractor’s and city’s perspective about the progress of the project as well as voice any concerns that citizen’s may have. The Streetscape Meetings will take place at City Hall.
