One of the memorable games for the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad this season was an early season contest with Chariton. At the time, the Chargers were the fifth ranked team in class 3A and a heavy favorite to not only beat Knoxville but to dominate the Panthers and the South Central Conference. That night Knoxville served notice that the Panthers were not going to get pushed around anymore. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the night also proved the guys were not going to give up very easily. The Panthers harnessed that momentum gained from that win to go 10-2 in the South Central Conference and clinch a tie for the title with Chariton.
