District 28 State Representative Greg Heartsill was pleased some particular bills survived Funnel Week in the State Legislature.
He sponsored two of them: a modification to the invasion of privacy laws and the Kelsey Smith bill. He says Sheriff Jason Sandholdt brought the Kelsey Smith bill to his attention which will enhance the partnership between law enforcement and telecommunications carriers.
Marion County Attorney Ed Bull proposed the change to the invasion of privacy law to make the offense an aggravated misdemeanor.
Other bills Heartsill highlights that made it through the first funnel were ones regarding rural improvement zones and mental health issues.
