Knoxville SSMID Committee Chairman Larry Formanek says funds are still available for improvements to the exterior of businesses in the downtown area.
SSMID is a voter-approved, self-imposed tax levy that has benefited many downtown Knoxville property owners. This will be the 10th year these finances have been made available for use.
Formanek says $50,000 in projects have been approved for funding, with about $26,000 having already been paid out.
A total of eleven projects were completed with SSMID funds over the last year.
Applications for SSMID funds are available at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce or on the city’s website, a link to which can be found here.
